Dayparting in Playlist Channels

Dayparting in playlist channels explained

In the recent Appspace update to Appspace 7.1-ac.4, we have introduced a new dayparting feature for playlist channels.

What is Dayparting?

Dayparting is a scheduling feature, whereby users can program content to play at different times of the day, week, or month. These new scheduling controls provide greater flexibility to position content for the target audience at the right time.

A modal window titled Playout Properties for Simple Messaging is open, showing settings for transition, aspect ratio, playback duration, and restrictions. A red arrow points to the Dayparting section. Notes appear on the right.

Publishers can edit the content schedule by clicking and highlighting the time blocks available on the Edit daypart schedule window.

A scheduling interface shows time blocks selected in blue: Monday - Friday, 9am-12pm and 3pm-5pm; Sunday, all hours; and every day, 6am-7am. Buttons for Cancel and Save are at the bottom.

Finally, users can set the playback frequency by day, hour, minute, or even by air time % or the number of playback loops.

As with every release, the usual bug fixes and escalation resolutions have been included. Visit our Knowledge Center to find out more.
