THE CHALLENGE

Welcome hybrid workers to the new space

An attention-grabbing interactive experience

With the new HQ opening fast approaching, the company turned to us to help create the wow it needed. And since they were already using Appspace Digital Signage, it was easy to add on a managed service solution to support the company’s technology and administration team.

A weekly status call quickly surfaced key issues – from big ideas and goals to specific requests. And a dedicated Appspace team worked with the customer’s internal stakeholders to develop the communication strategy, content presentation, and staff training.

To create a wow factor for the new HQ, we created custom kiosks that offer employees and visitors four key services:

  • Wayfinding, with animated pathways showing visitors and employees how to get around
  • A building directory where visitors or employees can search by room name, department, or business unit
  • A space availability checker with an interactive map of over 2,000 desks and meeting rooms so employees and visitors can see instantly where spaces are free
  • A café menu that includes images of the delicious food on offer that day

To date, we’ve installed 28 kiosks that feature a custom-created, attention-grabbing video that welcomes people to HQ.

THE SOLUTION

Insights, mapped spaces, and cleaned up content

We helped create a welcoming in-office experience, easing the transition for employees coming back.

The kiosks have created a visible, accessible window into the HQ with more than 2,000 spaces mapped and fitted with sensors that show occupancy. This gives insight into how people are using rooms, desks, huddle areas, and conference spaces. 

The Appspace team has helped develop best practices and clean up content libraries – providing standardized templates at all locations and training employees so they can easily publish consistent, high-quality content across the organization.

THE RESULTS

Meeting ESG goals with a new kind of integration

We implemented this first-of-its kind integration as a proof of concept for our customer’s HQ. With research showing that better indoor air quality boosts employee productivity and overall health, our customer’s head office is a win for their workplace experience and Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) goals.

The next step? Rolling out the Appspace and Metrikus integration across our customer’s global offices, serving 120,000 staff.
