On Saturday, August 18th, we will be releasing an update to the Appspace cloud platform, as well as the Appspace App.
We’ve added support for the LG SM5KD series of webOS devices, which increases the options customers have when looking to deploy content across their network. For more detailed information on this, please visit compatible operating systems and devices.
As part of the upcoming platform update, administrators can set automatic expiry options for uploaded content. While this is something that is possible for each piece of content, administrators can now set rules for automatic bulk deletion of old content. The primary goal is to prevent user group libraries from getting too large and bloated with unused content. Thus, for each user group library, you will be able to automatically delete multiple contents, unallocated or published, based on age.
On the App, we’ve bundled in some improvements on how channel thumbnails are handled, optimizing how we use resources when displaying them. We’ve also determined how to improve content transitioning in interactive mode whenever a user selects an item. As always, we’ve blown away some pesky bugs from both the app and the platform, which you can read about here and here.
