THE CHALLENGE

Create a go-to destination for company knowledge

Nordic’s plan for revamping their internal communications and knowledge function centered on using their own tech. But legacy applications and a lack of centralization couldn’t keep pace with the company’s rapid growth and global expansion. 

Nordic sought a solution to break down knowledge silos, increase connectivity, and boost productivity. To achieve the company’s business goals, Nordic needed a digital-first and user-friendly solution that could meet employees where they are.

Nordic’s goals were to:

  • Create a brand-new digital HQ to serve as the go-to destination for all knowledge, tools, and resources
  • Make it easy for people to find information, connect with colleagues and leadership, and share their insights
  • Boost engagement through a purpose-built, employee-centric platform that makes their working life easier

THE SOLUTION

A single solution to equip employees with up-to-date information

Nordic wanted to modernize knowledge-sharing and communications through an integrated solution that could serve as a central hub for all news, resources, tools, and conversations across the company.

After a lengthy review of more than 30 providers, Nordic selected Appspace. Our intranet offered the robust, adaptable, and scalable solution Nordic was looking for, with knowledge management capabilities to improve productivity, collaboration, and communications.

Nordic’s team also understood that an intranet is only as good as the quality of content housed in it. The team worked with stakeholders organization-wide to develop high-quality content that aligned with Nordic’s business strategy, vision, and mission.

The team created a regular cadence of communications to increase engagement on the platform and ensure that users saw its value.

The new intranet, named NordicHQ, launched company-wide during a live celebration.
The team created a series of short training videos to help users navigate the new system and hit the ground running.

THE RESULTS

An award-winning HQ

NordicHQ played a critical role in supporting the organization through a period of significant growth and change, including 32% YoY headcount growth and two acquisitions.

It’s a centralized hub for the whole organization that’s home to 400+ pages of content, 463 stories, 80+ communities, and 45 department sites. 

In 2022, Nordic’s intranet won the Ragan Communications Award for Intranet Launch or Relaunch and received an Honorable Mention for Best Intranet Design.
