THE CHALLENGE

Making campus communication easier 

FAU’s previous digital signage application was a source of frustration for users and IT administrators. The steep learning curve meant users struggled, leading to underusage across campuses. On top of that, the legacy software had different modules that weren’t tightly integrated, making the whole experience slow and inconvenient.

Plus, the requirement for a dedicated PC for every sign created a variety of headaches for the IT team. Communicating with the university community during emergencies was a top priority. However, the existing system wouldn’t integrate well with FAU’s emergency broadcast system. To make matters worse, the provider’s already high costs were set to increase significantly, prompting FAU to explore alternatives.

FAU’s goals were to:
